Temple Mount Violence PDF Print E-mail
The Bible presupposes the continuing violence in Jerusalem and on the Temple Mount!! Here’s a typical news event of what has been happening, followed by what the Bible says on the subject  —Several hundred Egyptians chanting "God is greatest" demonstrated against Israel in the heart of Cairo after midday prayers on Friday, shaking their fists and condemning the Jewish state amid tight police security. "We await your return, oh Palestine!" yelled the protesters… The incident followed Arab anger about plans by a radical Jewish group to erect a symbolic cornerstone of a new temple at the site.

The event was precipitated when members of a radical Jewish group clapped their hands at Jerusalem's Western Wall to the echo of Israeli police firing rubber-coated metal bullets at rock-throwing Palestinians in the mosque compound above. "Bomb Ramallah with helicopters," an old man, dressed in the sackcloth of a priest of Judaism's first Temple, said of the Palestinian-ruled city in the West Bank...

Jews revere the area as Temple Mount, where the two biblical Temples stood. Israel occupied the area when it captured Arab East Jerusalem in the 1967 Middle East war. The radical group, known as The Temple Mount Faithful, had raised passions by announcing plans to lay the cornerstone for a Third Temple on the annual Jewish fast day that commemorates the destruction of the first two. An Israeli court banned the symbolic act and police -- as they do every year -- stopped the Faithful from approaching a gate leading to the mosque compound. “My message to Ariel Sharon is: you were elected to liberate the Temple Mount, Jerusalem, and Israel," the group's leader, Gershon Solomon, told supporters in a speech near the Wall. Consider This:

1. These reports come from the secular media. Look at the Biblical language in them, such as “Jerusalem,” “first Temple,” “Temple Mount [Mount Zion],” “two [previous] biblical Temples,” “East Jerusalem [the Jerusalem of King David, and Jesus],” “The Temple Mount Faithful [“Mosaic” Jews],” “cornerstone [tangible evidence of the predicted Third Temple],” “Third Temple,” “Jewish fast day [in memory of the destruction of the earlier Temples by Nebucadnezzar and Roman general Titus [two literal fulfillments of Bible prophecies],” “mosque compound [referring to the current Dome of the Rock, hard evidence of the “trampling down of Jerusalem until the times of the gentiles be fulfilled— Luke 21:24],” and, finally, “liberate the Temple mount,” which is exactly what the Bible says will occur in the last days!

2. All of this is expected as a foreshadow to the rebuilding of the Third Temple— the Tribulation Temple. "And he [Antichrist] will make a firm covenant [enforce a decree] with the many [Jews] for one week [7 years], but in the middle [halfway] of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering [burnt and meal offerings, which are effectual only in a standing Temple]; and on the wing of abominations [when the Antichrist will set himself up as ‘God’ in the rebuilt Temple, 2 Thess. 2:4] will come one who makes desolate…” Daniel 9:27
